Welcome to the Wolfe Tones GAC Melbourne web site.
Wolfe Tones GAC is the most recently formed Mens football club in Melbourne. Established in 1990 is has become one of the states most successful clubs in its short history. The target audience and information on this website is aimed at present, former and future players as well as the GAA audience in general.
Wolfe Tones are always on the lookout for new players and members and are especially interested in visiting players looking at playing and experiencing the game whilst visiting Melbourne. One of the main reasons for the clubs success is its networking and the extensive contact base that has been established in the home counties of Ireland. If you are interested in playing for Wolfe Tones, please fill out the contact form or get in touch with one of the available contacts.
Games are played at Gaelic Park, Keysborough which is located in Melbourne's south east.
Wolfe Tones proved far too strong for rivals Pardaig Pearses to retain the Victorian 2008 Football Championship. In damp conditions the Tones took the initiative from the beginning and never let up.
The Tones produced a powerful performance despite this being their 3rd outing in 8 days due to an objection.
Mark Cronin
West Cork man Mark Cronin was awarded Man of the Match with a staggering 1-13 to his name. This tally is a record for a Championship final and surpasses that of another Wolfe Tones man of the past, Mick O’Keefe from Dublin.
